Import Alliance Spring Meet 2015 Part 1

Import Alliance is one of the largest Grassroots shows/meets in the country and no matter which location is hosting the event, people from hundreds even thousand’s of miles around come to attend.  This was my third IA show and second in Atlanta, GA, and the host site was Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Last year was pretty decent except for the fact that it was rainy and cold the first day but it was somewhat better the second day.  This year although it was really windy and a little chilly it still didn’t keep 10,000+ people from coming out!  My trip started from Charlotte, NC where myself and a few friends all met at a gas station in order to caravan down in one big group.  Well things change, people are late and others don’t have the patience to wait so we ended up splitting our caravan into two groups.  We eventually met up with the remaining group at a QT in Greenville, SC where we stopped to stretch our legs, refill the tanks, and grab some food.

Cody Honeycut’s Mazda Speed Protege on the way down to Atlanta.  I wouldn’t normally advise taking rolling shots while driving but I couldn’t pass up a great opportunity!

I’ve only known Jacob Cushing for about a year and I’ve seen his sleeper bugeye WRX transform for the better.  He says he’s finally satisfied (for now) with how the car has come together.

Paul Manabat’s wrapped Evo X.  The meaty fitment is definitely a step in the right direction but would be on point with a widebody or some sort of fender flare mod IMO.

After everybody was done, we all got back on the highway for another 2 hour drive to Atlanta.  We literally took over the road with almost 15 cars deep.  On the way we had passed a trio of KDM beauties, of which you’ll see later.  We reached our hotel in McDonough, GA, checked in and made a game plan for the morning.  9AM rolled around and we all headed out to the speedway.  Outside the track was two lines of cars that stretched from the entrance and nearly halfway around the track.  There were people from as far away as Delaware, Illinois, Vermont, and even Ontario, Canada.

Only certain cars can pull off the Battleship gray/primer gray look and I think this tC nailed it.

Even though IA is more directed to imports (hence the name), a lot of clean domestics made their appearances and this Camaro does just that.

I was really excited to see this car in person.  It belongs to Simon Noitalay who happened to be showing it off at his company’s booth called Ace Aethetics.  AA is a local wrapping business in Charlotte, NC in which Simon started from the ground up but under a different name.

I always look forward to seeing the Datsun 720 every time I come to IA Atlanta.

This is S2k is so bright its ridiculous.

There’s just something about white car on white wheels.
