It wasn’t a very busy Saturday for me. Cars and Coffee Charlotte was held in the morning and to be honest I probably should’ve at least took more than 2 photos because it was the largest gathering in a few years and by far the largest for the new location. People were practically parking in the woods and on top of weeds to get any decent spot left. Afterwards, I had an appointment with Acura to have some warranty work done on the TSX. Rather then wait in a crowded waiting room or stare at the new silver NSX and blue A-spec TLX for an hour I walked over to the newish Porsche dealership next door. The dealership owned by Rick Hendrick is a maybe 2 year old building built 100 or so yards from their old building but, this new building is way bigger and more modernized. I used to work not too far down the street from Porsche and always wanted to stop in on my lunch break but never really found the time.
“The new 35,500-square-foot facility sits on 4.3 acres: hosts 13 service bays and provides numerous customer amenities including free Wi-Fi, refreshments, a coffee bar, service loaner vehicles and complimentary shuttle service to Charlotte area businesses and attractions.”
The new building features an extensive showroom with various models, state of the art offices and lounges, and a friggin Forza racing simulator (which I didn’t get to mess with). The employees were super friendly and had no issues with me walking in with my cameras. I was a kid in a candy store only I had no money for anything.
Porsche has definitely stepped their game up on the colors they now offer like this 2018 718 Boxster S in Miami Blue.
You also can’t go wrong with a Carrera White Metallic Targa 4 GTS.
2018 Porsche 718 Cayman S in Night Blue Metallic.
Porsche GT3.
GT3’s are life…there’s no debate.
Black and yellow, black and yellow
This GT3 RS has been wrapped Matte Riviera Blue but sports GT Silver underneath.
Sapphire Blue Macan S.
In recent year’s, manufactures have rolled out many different shades or greys/grays. I don’t know why but the primered gray clearcoat look has grown on me. Im a huge fan of the Nardo Gray from Audi and this Chalk color on the Cayman GTS.
I’d probably be the first one to tell anyone how ugly the first generation Panamera’s were but the redesign is spot on and reflects what a wagon should look like and the Volcano Grey Metallic isn’t a bad color either.
Oh and if you couldn’t tell the difference, all Hybrids will come with green accents and calipers. I only wish they had a Porsche 918 Spyder on display.
I need one of these Forza simulators in my place only I’m poor and live in a small apartment. I’ll definitely be back next time to give this a go!
Unfortunately there were no GT2 RS’s available…yet. Be on the lookout at the end of March or beginning of April. Call me crazy but I’d be okay with spending $300k on a 700 hp Porsche.
