Product Review | Brush Hero

Do you ever have something important to do, like study for a test or answer work emails, but instead of doing those things, you find yourself checking your Facebook like you check your fridge when you’re hungry? You know what I’m talking about; you look in your fridge like every 20 minutes even though literally NOTHING has changed, the same is usually true with Facebook. I found myself doing this exact thing, but fortunately, during one of many habitual Facebook peeps something worthwhile came up! No it wasn’t a cat video or news of another friend getting engaged, but weirdly, it was an ad. An ad for something called the “Brush Hero“.

That video is what I saw on my Facebook feed, right off the bat this one caught my eye, my skeptical eye. I thought “What stupid new thing are they trying to sell us now“?” and since literally anything is better than studying for a final in medical school, I watched the video. However, rather than dismissing the ad by continuing to scroll down my feed, I replayed it! What I saw in the video was fantastic!

What was this magical spinning brush device?! I HAD to know more, so I went to Brush Hero’s website to see what I could dig up. Everything seemed legit! This wasn’t some half funded Kickstarter project nor was it just some prototype; the Brush Hero was a real product. In fact, it was such a good product, that it had received exceptional ratings on Amazon (you can’t fake that) as well as positive customer testimonials.

I was 2 steps away from ordering it before I thought to myself, the car enthusiast world needs to know about this product! I realized that this would be the PERFECT item for cleaning wheels. Sure the video shows some dude cleaning wheels, but those are fat 5 spoke wheels, us car folk have actual wheel cleaning problems. BBS RS’? Work VS-XX’? CCW Classics? Rotiform BLQs? The list of thin multi-spoked wheels go on for a while, as does the time it takes to clean them. So with the idea of spreading the good news I figured: “Hey maybe Brush Hero wouldn’t mind giving me one of these bad boys if I do a little review about it” A few emails  with the lovely people at Brush Hero and a week later I had my very own and I. was. stoked.

The packaging was great and the Brush Hero came with various fitting attachments which are designed to help you take the Brush Hero off quickly so you can switch to other hose attachments if need be. Additionally it included a spare brush head.

“Installing” the Brush Hero is extremely easy, just take off your hose’s existing attachment (if you have one) and….

Screw on the Brush Hero!
*Note* I didn’t screw on the “quick removal” attachment because of technical difficulties with the inferior hose at my house.

Now my wheels were DIRTY, I actually intentionally got them dirtier when I knew I had a Brush Hero coming my way.

No, seriously, I went back roading just for you guys in order to build up some extra brake dust to really put the Brush Hero through its paces.

Moment of truth, here goes!

The Brush Hero’s incredible design not only squirts water from behind a brush, but the water pressure actually rotates the brush, eliminating the need for scrubbing!

Immediately, dirt was scrubbed away. I was amazed. HERE is a little video of me using it.

I thought, it would take some force, but as soon as you just run the brush across a surface it eliminates the grime. In the above photo you can see the clean spot on the lip just below the brush. That happened from maybe 2 seconds of contact with the Brush Hero.

The bristles are made from injection molded plastic which make them capable of tough scrubbing power all while not scratching surfaces. No one wants scratches on their wheels, watching for curbs and potholes is already hard enough. *edit* Some of my followers have been skeptical about the brush not scratching, but in reality the brush is actually really soft, and the black brush included in the package is even softer! Additionally, someone else brought to my attention that simply washing the brake dust with water and a brush my lead to scratching over time. Luckily, Brush Hero makes the Star Hero ! It’s an attachment which adds soap to the Brush Hero, stay tuned for my review of that product soon.

I usually save cleaning my wheels for last, because I dread it. I have to squat down, wipe each spoke, all while having my hand immersed in the dirty brake dust saturated towel. The Brush hero did a better job than I did in a fraction of the time. Just take a look at the results!

When I use cleaning product and a microfiber it doesn’t do this well of a job. It’s INCREDIBLE to think I was able to achieve this level of clean with just the Brush Hero and water!

Of course this isn’t just a wheel cleaning tool, it can be used for a wide variety of things as pointed out in their video.

I found it to be ideal for cleaning my grill.

The bristles do a great job at getting all the tight spaces I can’t.
