Daily Driven Mazda RX-8 GT.

The Mazda RX-8 is a car that turns heads left and right, even bone stock. But when Danny, the owner, made the decision to purchase an RX-8 he had no intentions of  leaving it stock. He wanted to not only turn heads but also drop jaws, and as you can tell he has done a damn good job of fulfilling his dreams for the car. His RX-8 is a car that will even make someone who has no interest stop what they are doing and stare as it passes by them, whenever we would be driving between locations for the shoot it was amazing to see how many people stared in awe, I even saw an elderly couple doing lawn work stop and turn around to watch it go past their house at one point! I have always loved RX-8’s but Danny has taken an already phenomenal car and made into a masterpiece. So here’s how his car came to be what it is now:

” In high school I was passed down a 2000 Honda Accord 4dr. This became my “practice” car, I just started ripping it apart and changing everything just because I could. Once I left for school in the city I decided I was too old to be driving a car like that so I decided to sell it. Once I did I had a difficult choice choosing between what kind of coupe I wanted. I ended up going with an Rx8 because they’re so unique and rare. They’re not like 350z’s or S2k’s that you see on every corner. My dad found me a good deal for my car in Florida so him and I flew out and picked up my Rx8, bone stock, then drove it all the way back here. Since I picked up my car two years ago it has been my love every since. The main inspiration for me is Matthew Salgado’s (tiltmode) Rx8. After seeing his car featured so much and how he pushed fitment to a new limit with his Rx8, I wanted to step up and make mine known while keeping it as unique and different from his car and others’ as possible.

My future plans for the car is to buy a set of Vossen or Stance wheels with even more aggressive fitment and maybe some full side skirts. Once my engine decides to fail I plan on swapping it with an twin turbo Rx7 FD motor, not an Ls1… that would be a travesty.
I want to personally thank Sam Huck for helping me out with my car so much these past two years and all of the time he’s donated to my car. I also want to thank Touge Factory for all the labor they put into my car also. Of course I can’t go without thanking any of my friends who have helped me out in my garage or theirs whenever I needed to get something done.”

RX-8’s have such dramatic and aggressive body lines and these Concave XXR 522’s do a phenomenal job at complimenting the fender flares.

Outstanding stance thanks to Stance GR+ Coilovers and Greddy Camber arms to get the fitment spot-on.

I absolutely love the Mint Blue Front Bumper, I have yet to see it on any other RX-8 until this one!

When your as low as this RX-8, you need a nice audio system to drown out the sound of your bumper and exhaust scraping on the street over each small bump, so he went with 6×8 MB Quart front speakers, 6×9 MB Quart rear speakers 250.1 JL Audio amplifier and a 12” JL Audio w3v3 subwoofer.

When your car is this low, your mudflaps become mud scoops.

Best sticker I have seen in awhile :D

LED Taillights added a nice touch to the rear.

Another shot of the fitment.

We were gonna get some cool shots by that industrial park, but the entrance was a gravel incline with big holes throughout the path.. so that didn’t work out well :P

I love the Headlights! Gloss black painted housings with paint matched projector rings.

What size tires do you have

  • Chris March 20, 2013 - 2:02 pm Reply

You said +20 on those rims. That’s without spacers in those pictures.

Yeah the front had 10mm spacers, none in the rear. The front tires were 225/40/18 and the Rears were 235/40/19.

What was the original offset on the wheel without the spacer. Car looks great bye the way.
